The Association conveys its greetings to all brothers and sisters in
Sectt. Official Language Service on completion of one year since
the new body came into existence (17.07.2012). We also express our thanks to
all of you for reposing faith in and expressing solidarity with us. Needless to
say, your co-operation and continued support will further strengthen and
enliven us to work with vigour and courage for the improvement in and
upliftment of the cadre as a whole.
Having felt the need to have an authentic, instant and essential medium of communication for enabling the members to have knowledge of activities being carried out by the Association, we, the Executive Body, have decided to introduce this blog on which members are invited to give their feedback and suggestions. We will try to ensure that information/updates on the issues taken up by us with the authorities concerned at appropriate level are passed on to our esteemed members in a prompt, reasonable, reliable and responsible manner through this blog without encroaching upon the space created for any of us (Deptt. or Association). Absence of any update on the issues so far concerning the cadre can be attributed to inter-se encroachment of defined space of the office bearers.
The Association has actively been pursuing the matters continuously with the departments concerned and the status on the various issues concerning the cadre is as follows :-
(1) Granting Grade Pay of Rs. 4600/- to Junior Hindi Translators-
The matter having been represented by the Association and initially rejected by Deptt. of Expenditure, it has once again been referred to Deptt. of Expenditure for examination after this Association's rigorous persuasion.
(2) Notifying Recruitment Rules –
The issue has been prioritized after meeting of the Association with JS(OL) in the 2nd week of July and consequently a meeting at the level of Joint Secy. (OL and DOPT) has been held last week. The issue is expected to be cleared in a couple of days in DOPT.
(3) Court case –
Next date for hearing in CAT has been fixed for 19th of August, 2013. A senior counsel has been engaged for a speedy and favourable decision.
(4) Promotion to various posts-
The process of filling up the existing vacancies for the various posts by promotion & regularization is underway. The Association is committed to get the due delivered to the eligible Ad-hoc ADs and senior most translators.
